Supportive Housing Program (SHP)

The Supportive Housing Program (SHP) is a two-year rental program designed to help homeless and disabled individuals become self-sufficient.

SHP is a scattered site housing, meaning that once chosen for the program clients are able to choose their own housing. Qualifications for SHP are to be certifiably homeless as well as be medically considered disabled by a physician. Those who qualify must be homeless, medically disabled and a Monroe County resident.

MCOP has rental assistance programs with various qualification guidelines, such as income eligibility and Fair Market Rent guidelines. Rental assistance is for those who are street or shelter homeless who are looking for move-in costs and those who are behind on rent and looking for back rent owed. All rental programs require documents such as proof of homelessness (if applicable), proof of income, and/or eviction notice. Please contact MCOP to see if you qualify.
